The Plan
It was our original plan for Shirlene & me to take a couple of weeks and travel the Old West.
Realizing that traveling with two couples would be more fun & safer than one, we asked our good friends,Tom & Louise Andersen, to join us.
We want to head to Reno via Highway 36 through Red Bluff and Susanville. From Reno we'll head accross Nevada on I-80 to Salt Lake City and Park City. We'll spend three days in the Provo area visiting family & friends before heading for Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. Las Vegas will be our next stop where we will spend a few days visiting family and sightseeing. After the bright lights of LV, we'll head north and then cross through Death Valley before heading up US-395 to Lake Tahoe. Heading west will take us through Gold Country and then into Wine Country. Our last leg will take us to the coast and then up through the redwoods to home. After posting this, we encountered a small change in plans. The route will stay the same... but Louise will be joining us later. She will fly into Las Vegas and join us for the ride back. So of the four, it looks like Louise will NOT have the sorest rear end when we all reach home. |
