We saw Jason off to work, then said goodby to Hillary and the kids. We waited until after the morning rush hour to hit the freeways, then set our sights for home. The final days of our trip were not what we had planned, but we are happy we were able to be with Millie and Clyde. As we head home, our thoughts are with them.

We anticipate a typical Humboldt welcome home -- a wild, wet ride through the redwoods. We made our traditional stop at Granzellas for a warm brunch of hot reuben sandwiches. From the looks of the sky, our trip should be on the cool side.

As we stopped at Piercy for a quick break, we were reminded that we had planned stopping there on our way home -- only a few days earlier. Had we been on time, this area would have been filled with bikers from the Redwood Run. We looked more than a day late and a dollar short. |

It was good to be home, good to breathe the cool coastal air. We stopped by Tom and Louise's home, and talked Tom into coming over and taking some arrival pictures. We took a look at the final tally on our trip-o-meter, to find we had travelled around 5,600 miles. We are tired, but have some wonderful memories to cherish.
