This summer we chose to explore Vancouver Island, British Columbia.  We couldn't afford the time this summer as we have in past summers.  Still, seeing what sights that island has to offer has been a dream of ours for sometime.  We are always concerned about weather in Canada, and when traveling by motorcycle it should be a big concern.  Never the less, we left Fortuna with the same excitement that always accompanies our travels.
Since our trip "up to" and "back from" Vancouver Island is on the same route we have taken on past rides, we've decided to swap the fun of taking pictures with that of just settling in and riding.  But even with our new resolve, some of the old sights still seemed to ask for their picture to be taken.   Quick shots of Crescent City, Brookings, Port Orford and Bandon could not be resisted. |

It was somewhere just south of Bandon that Shirlene made another encounter with a bee.  It was on our last trip through Canada that she was stung by a yellow jacket.   This time a honey bee decided to explore Shirlene's face protection.   After getting lodged for a moment or two, the bee introduced himself by stinging Shirlene on the temple.  By the time we stopped in Coos Bay for the night, the journey had lost some of it's magic for Shirlene.  I on the other hand found it to be an excellent photo-op.
